Land Cruiser 250 Limb Risers: Fitment, What’s in the Kit, and What You Need

Limb risers for the 2024+ Toyota Land Cruiser 250 (LC250) use a lower mount at the hood and a cable run up to a stout point on the roof rack. The goal is simple: on narrow or overgrown trails, the limb risers help guide small branches and brush up and over instead of into the windshield.

Fitment: 2024+ Land Cruiser 250

These brackets are cut for the 2024+ Toyota Land Cruiser (250 / LC250) hood and fender geometry. They mount using an existing fender bolt and sit in the gap between the hood and fender as the lower cable attach point.

Factory hood and fender gaps can vary slightly between trucks. Minor adjustment or a light bend for clearance is normal. The easiest method is to use an adjustable wrench, as it has nice, flat edges, adjust it down to the the metal thickness, and use it as a lever to bend. Don’t force a fight with the hood edge, adjust the bracket until the hood closes cleanly.

These might work on a GX550, but we haven't confirmed that to date. 

Brackets only or complete kit

We offer two options: Hood brackets only or the Complete Limb Riser kit.

Hood brackets are the LC250-specific metal: driver and passenger, .075" stainless steel, finished with black powder coat. You’re buying the lower mounts. Cable and hardware are on you. These can also be used as a front tie down point for longer cargo like a canoe or lumber.

Complete kit adds the rest of a working system: wire rope, 2 turnbuckles, 4 Van Beest wire clamps, 4 thimbles, 2 carabiners, 2 eye bolts, and heat shrink for a finishing touch.

You need a roof rack

Limb risers need a high, stout upper mount — almost always a roof rack. If you have a bare OEM roof: sort the rack first. This kit doesn’t include a rack; we don't make racks but do offer racks from LFD Off Road, another North Carolina based manufacturer. 

What they do (and don’t)

Limb Risers help spare the windshield on brushy trails by keeping pressure from branches off the glass. Not body armor, not a substitute for line choice, and they look like trail gear on a street-parked 250. Hood brackets can also work as front tie-downs for long cargo off the rack.

Install notes

1. Lower brackets install at the existing fender bolt; adjust for hood clearance.
2. Optional - Install 3M Paint Protection Film on the hood edge opposite the mount.
3. Bolt included eye bolts onto the rack; assemble cable with thimbles and Van Beest clips.
4. Tension snug via turnbuckles
5. Re-adjust tension after the first brushy miles.

Drawbacks

You have to remove tension and unclip them before opening the hood. Cables can vibrate slightly at highway speed (but proper tension removes a lot of it). They don't add wind noise surprisingly.
